CBRE announced today that Blake Hastings has rejoined the firm’s Minneapolis office as Executive Vice President. He will partner with Tad Jellison and John Lorence and specialize in advising local, national and international companies on their real estate strategies.

“Blake is a well-known and highly respected professional throughout the commercial real estate industry,” said CBRE’s Jeff Jiovanazzo, Managing Director in Minneapolis. “He will be partnering with Tad and John, who are already one of the most successful teams in the Twin Cities. Blake’s complimentary skillset will only benefit the team and his return greatly enhances CBRE’s ability to address our clients’ changing needs across an evolving commercial real estate landscape.”

Mr. Hastings served as Managing Director for CBRE Minneapolis from 2013-2018, where he was responsible for developing and implementing strategic direction and day-to-day leadership for nearly 250 people. Most recently, Mr. Hastings served as President for the Twin Cities-based national property development firm Oppidan, where he oversaw the company’s business operations and strategic planning for its three offices in Excelsior, Minn., Raleigh, N.C. and San Jose, Calif.

During his 22-year commercial real estate career, Mr. Hastings has earned numerous accolades from CBRE and other industry organizations, including CBRE Market Leader of the Year, Top 100 People to Know by Twin Cities Business and being named to the Minneapolis Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 list. He is also the former President of both Rein in Sarcoma and Young Presidents’ Organization and holds a bachelor’s degree from Villanova University.

“I had an amazing six years at Oppidan, working with an incredible team to transform the company into a nationally recognized real estate developer,” said Mr. Hastings. “While I will miss the company and more importantly the people I worked with at Oppidan, I am excited to be back at CBRE. I could not pass up the opportunity to partner with Tad and John, who I both recruited and hired when I was the Managing Director. I’m looking forward to combining their occupier experience with my knowledge of the landlord and developer side in the years to come.”
