This report looks back at the predictions we made at the beginning of the year in our 2022 Asia Pacific Real Estate Market Outlook and evaluates what we got right, and what we got wrong.
We have given ourselves Grade B for our economic and capital markets forecast as rapid inflation, prolonged zero-covid policies, the Russia-Ukraine war, and faster-than-expected interest rate hikes impacted the region to a stronger degree than we anticipated at the start of 2022.
Our predictions for occupier markets were largely accurate and deserving of a Grade A. Steady demand, slower decision-making and rising fit-out and construction costs will characterise the office, retail and logistics sectors in the coming months.
