CBRE has announced four new in-line tenants at Queen City Quarter, a 302,324-square-foot, mixed-use development in uptown Charlotte previously known as EpiCentre.
CBRE’s Kaitlyn Fitch, Kivett Williams, and Katherine Southard handled lease negotiations on behalf of the landlord. CBRE has also renewed several existing tenants including World of Beer, Mortimer’s Café & Pub and Bowlero. Several other retail deals are in negotiations.
Portal 123, a rotating Instagram museum and immersive art experience, leased 3,190 sq. ft. in Suite B-126. The museum was originally located at 114 South Tryon St. and closed during the pandemic. Portal 123 is anticipated to reopen at Queen City Quarter in Q2 2023.
Nostalgia Hollow Co., a local coffee and home goods shop, leased 1,900 sq. ft. Suite A-104. This will be Nostalgia’s second location in Charlotte and the coffee shop plans to occupy the space by Q3 2023.
Cajun Market, a fast-casual Cajun-Creole restaurant, leased 1,270 sq. ft. in Suite B-124. This will be the restaurant’s second location with plans to occupy the space in Q2 2023.
Super Icy Brothers, a frozen dessert shop, leased 1,929 sq. ft. in Suite B-210. The shop plans to occupy the space by Q3 2023 and operates two other locations in Carolina Place and Northlake Mall.
“There is a lot of excitement and energy surrounding Queen City Quarter,” said CBRE’s Fitch. “We’re thrilled to welcome four new tenants, as well as many other concepts that are eager to claim their presence in the heart of uptown Charlotte. The future is certainly bright for Queen City Quarter!”
In addition to the leases, CBRE will begin the previously announced renovations and improvements to the property in late spring. Most of the work will be in Queen City Quarter’s 15,462-sq.-ft. plaza and include replacing the pavers along the walkways and installing benches with planters in the main common area. The building’s interior façades on all levels in addition to the exterior staircases will also be repaired where needed, and the entire building will be painted.
Queen City Quarter is centrally located on College Street, between Trade and Fourth Streets. The mixed-use center is within walking distance of Charlotte’s biggest attractions, including Spectrum Center, Bank of America Stadium and the Charlotte Convention Center. It’s accessible from the Overstreet Mall and features an on-site parking deck, a LYNX light rail station on the second level, and on-site property management.
