CBRE announced its Capital Markets team in San Francisco will represent Holy Names University (HNU) in the sale of their 58.6-acre property in Oakland, Calif. Holy Names University will cease operations in May 2023. Remaining HNU students may transfer to several Bay Area institutions that have developed memorandums of understanding with HNU to support students in their transition.

CBRE’s Mike Taquino, Kyle Kovac, Joe Moriarty and Giancarlo Sangiacomo are marketing the property for sale beginning now through the end of the year. Brad Zampa and Mike Walker on CBRE’s Debt & Structured Finance team in San Francisco will support with financing.

Located at 3500 Mountain Blvd. in Oakland, the property has 15 buildings including a performing arts center, gymnasium, chapel, library, 30 classrooms and housing for 450 student beds. The property is situated in the Oakland Hills, which is known for its single-family homes and proximity to downtown Oakland, downtown San Francisco and the University of California, Berkeley.

While HNU seeks to attract a successor option, the property can continue as an education campus or be redeveloped for residential use under the current Oakland General Plan and the California State Density Bonus program.
