Tom Burns is a Vice Chair with CBRE Capital Markets with nearly two decades of experience in commercial real estate finance.
Based in CBRE’s Dallas office, Burns brings a proven track record of executing complex commercial real estate financing transactions nationwide, having closed deals totaling more than $15 billion throughout his career. He will focus on growing CBRE’s Debt & Structured Finance business across Texas, providing tailored financing solutions to commercial real estate owners and developers.
Prior to joining CBRE in 2025, Tom was a Managing Director at Affinius Capital (formerly Square Mile Capital). Previously, he was a Managing Director in Deutsche Bank’s Commercial Real Estate (DB CRE) group in Dallas, overseeing the office in addition to sourcing, negotiating and structuring commercial real estate loans in excess of $10 billion for Texas and the Midwest region. He worked for Deutsche Bank in New York and Los Angeles before moving to Dallas. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, Tom worked in Investment Sales and Financing at Transwestern Capital Advisors in Beverly Hills, California.
Originally from Pasadena, California, Tom and his wife, Lucy, live in Dallas with their four children. He is an avid golfer and a member at the Dallas and Los Angeles Country Club.
